Georges has a “larger than life personality” says Benjamin Vergnion about his son; “he thinks you ‘stink and belong to the garbage’ if he doesn’t like you or that you are simply ‘great’ if he does”. A part from that, Georges loves to make intricate little art installations; he has a passion and serious talent in using scissors, he love his modern dance classes and baseball. This funny little boy loves going to sleep with his Captain America mask and shield, and he also loves to play the role of big brother to his little sister Charlotte.Benjamin Vergnion is the CEO & Creative Director of Etiquette Clothiers, a new super cool brand for adults and children.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I was very surprised when I asked him this question over the weekend – he answered to help children in doing things…

Someone you admire? Superman, Spiderman and Captain America in that exact order… of course he says mommy, dad, Charlotte, papi and babi are great too!

What is your big dream? For his papi to buy him a chocolate factory

Are you scared of anything? Monsters, but Paul and Brian (the doorman) make sure they don’t get into the building…

Your favorite films and books For movies – Cars, Toy Story, The Lorax in that specific order…For books –  The History of Disney book of all the greatest films ever made as it is “big” and full of pictures and stories from Pinocchio, Jungle Book to Peter Pan.

Something you did recently that you really loved Taking the boat across to Brooklyn to Jane’s Carousel

The best holidays you ever had ? The family farmhouse in Dorset England with all the cousins… picking up eggs in the morning, feeding the pigs and petting the cows. Sleeping in the tree house and spending all day and night with “my cousins”. “ I miss my cousins” he always say…

Your favorite outfit or the piece your like the most from your wardrobe Soft pants and the Batman or Superman long sleeve t-shirt. Only soft pants!  The same “N” sneakers as my daddy.

The next item you would so dearly love to get Buzzlight cryptotronic shooting thing… in these exact words

If you had a magic wand, what would you do with it right now? Chocolate

Benjamin

A place you saw when you were a child, and that made its mark on you The Taj Mahal in India when I was 10 yo… one of the most memorable moments in my life walking through a dark passage and at the end a small door that opens up to the most amazingly beautiful and glowing structure I had ever seen.

The place you love near your home We live in NoHo in New York City. The area is filled with great little restaurants, galleries and parks. On the weekend we wake up in the morning and get the coffee on the corner at La Colombe, then to Il Bucco on Great Jones for a quick hearty breakfast. In the afternoon we go to Washington Square Park or what my son calls “the dirty playground” which is a cute location on Mulberry and Spring. Other attraction we visit is the newly improved Children’s Museum of the Arts in Tribeca or a bicycle day trip to Governors island. When it comes to stores, the soho MoMa store and Baloone Saloon are always favorites.

Where do you dream to go for your next family holiday? Back to India and Indonesia… Also would like to discover South America which I am the least familiar with especially Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

A film that you saw recently and that staid with you? Not many chances to go to movies… the last one I saw was The Lorax with my son… Funny enough it did stay with me as it has a very naïve yet deeply moral outtake on nature, capitalism and society which even my 3.5 year old son can relate too.

The film that you love to see with the whole family? My kids don’t watch too many movies… it is really an occasional thing. Maybe we will have one in the future.

The book on your bedside table My ipad.

What do you buy online? I buy mostly everything online as I do not have enough time to shop and the weekend I would rather spend it with the kids doing other activities. Mrporter.com, barneys.com, oki-ni.com, smallable.com, sweetwilliamltd.com, giggle.com, jcrew.com (crewcuts)…

A website that inspires you? For general inspiration I love to consult a tumbler site called CONVOY (convoy.tumblr.com) – they have some amazing curation of images. For men’s fashion I am a big fan of Mrporter.com – I think they have achieved the right balance between editorial and retail. The site is more than just a purchase, it’s an experience. Of course I am very proud of our new online platform www.etiquetteclothiers.com – we receive many compliments and orders just keep on coming so we must be doing something right.
