Ambassador for the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation, Pernille Teisbæk, and WHEAT have launched a limited-edition capsule collection of children’s clothing in support of the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation. All profits will go directly to the foundation, and the aim is to raise over 67.000 euros to the fight against childhood cancer.
A significant portion of the foundation’s funds go directly to its work, which covers childhood cancer research, information, and support for families affected by childhood cancer.
The collection consists of t-shirts, sweat styles, denim styles, a pyjama, a beanie, and a cap — offering a total unisex look with an intended oversized fit. All styles are made from organic fabrics, with the t-shirts, sweat styles, pyjama, beanie, and cap certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard. As September Childhood Cancer Month approaches make sure to check out the collection here.
Q&A with Pernille Teisbæk
About the title ‘I Will Do Big Things?
‘I Will Do Big Things’ is a statement that, for me, is primarily associated with something hopeful, and the message with this particular title is to spark hope amidst the challenge of going through illness.
About being ambassador for the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation?
If I can help make a difference for children affected by this relentless disease, I am very grateful. I lost my father to cancer when I was 7, and I don’t wish for any family to go through the same. I think it is particularly important to focus on cancer research, as it is the greatest hope we can give those affected by the illness.
About designing children’s clothing for the first time?
I am a mother of four and always thought it could be fun to design clothes that my own children could wear. That it was possible, on top of that, to do a collaboration for a cause that is so close to my heart just made so much sense. Before my father passed away, he gave me a ring with a smiley. The smiley is now a part of the inspiration behind the design as a small – but for me, very important – detail.
The ideas behind the collection?
Comfort is key. Kids need to be able to move, play, and have fun. Hoodies and sweatpants are favorites among kids and easy to put on as well. Denim is durable and goes for so many occasions. I think it is important that clothes can be passed on, which is why the collection consists of unisex styles and timeless classics. For the same reason, I have focused on designs and colours that go well across seasons.
