Thing's to Look Out For This week

What happened to the de minimis exemption Trump
BUSINESS PULSE

The ‘de minimis’ exemption had applied across the world before Trump’s second term. The relief had allowed goods worth less than $800 (£595) to enter the US duty-free since 2016 – and for decades before that at a lower threshold.
Under the new rules, only letters and personal gifts worth less than $100 (£74) will still be free of import duties. Charges will depend on the tariff regime facing the country from where the goods are sent. Fox example, a parcel containing products worth $600 would raise $180 in extra duties when sent from a country facing a 30% tariff rate.
Currently, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria.,Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia have suspended postage to USA.
The result is many kids brands & stores are currently suspending delivery to the states. Something ww’ll have to keep an eye on.

Mini thought
Linda & I will be recording a micro pod of Kidswear Therapy on the subject of Tariffs & Trump’s decision to do away with the de minimus exemption. We discuss the impact on brands, stores & consumers buying kids fashion & products. If this is affecting you and you would like to tell us your story on the pod, or send in a question please get in contact hello@pirouetteblog.com
That’s all from me this Monday. Let’s get excited for Autumn, stay cozy & keep an eye on the small stuff—it always speaks loudest.
