“Lotte talks ALOT. She is funny, creative and smells of just baked biscuits when she is asleep. She is mortally scarred of any animal bigger than a gnat. She dreams about having long straight blonde hair, its her obsession but unfortunately her own hair just doesn’t want to grow and is beautifully curly”. A creative pattern cutter who previously worked in costume design, Nicola Rodgers is the founder and designer of little-troll.co.uk.
Lotte

Nicola
A place you saw when you were a child, and that made its mark on you ? My grandfathers office. My Grandparents owned a small department store in Norway and his office door was hidden and tucked away behind rails of clothing, so as a tiny girl I thought it was a secret place. It seamed completely magical to me. Also the sales ladies let me have chewing gum from there till, whats not to love about that.
The place you love near your home
There is a large cafe in our town square that has recently started to stay open late. No one seams to know it though, so I feel like I get the place to myself, the town center is deserted and I love it. Sumer light, quiet, still, calm.
Where do you dream to go for your next family holiday New York
A film that you saw recently and that staid with you? French film, subtitled about a chocolatier. It was an unexpected stolen two hours. I cant remember the name. My memory is awful.
The film that you love to see with the whole family? Rapunzel
The book on your bedside table Lotte makes us puzzle books, and leaves them for us to fill in.
The children’s brands your cherish I really like Agulus for shoes, and I have just seen some Minas ones with mustaches on blog site little scandinavian that I know lotte would love.
The children’s stores you love to visit and buy from There is a lovely shop in Norway that is a mix of cafe and home wares and fashion. I really like spending time in there. You get all your needs met in one, huge prawn sandwiches, eclectic dresses and cute notebooks. Im afraid I cant remember the name though, my bad memory again.
Last thing you bought for your child Bright pink pumps and a tutu, I succumbed to her love of all things pink ,Its rare I get it right for her but that hit the mark
Favourite pieces in Lotte’s wardrobe Lotte decorated a t-shirt a couple of years ago with buttons and applique, all her own work and its still my favorite thing. Something bought would have to be a cotton voile top in lemon and white print from a London department store. It was nestled in an otherwise sea of pink nylon. I was very pleased with my find, its lovely, she refuses point blank to wear it.
What do you buy online? Fabric and food. I could happily trawl for hours looking at fabrics and food blog sites I can loose days on.
A website that inspires you Any web site that is customer friendly. Hard to navigate sites drive me nuts. I would have to say that I actually prefer blogs, I find them much more personal and inspiring. People are a lot less polished and it feels inclusive, friendly. You are more likely to see a work/idea/view point that is only half baked and that is a good thing creatively because it is more inspiring to see a load of ingredients randomly put together in an as yet unfinished piece. Its like a conversation, it can go anywhere and in a different direction depending on who joins in on it. Blogs are very female I think, they are a level playing field where anyone can have a go. Not everyone is lucky enough to do what they want to for a living and blogs are a way that women especially have found a platform to find there voice and often shine. That can only be a good thing. Im rambling now.
Something that made you laugh out loudly recently? Always my husband, usually by text and usually in an inappropriate place.
