New in the catalog of collaborations : Christian Lacroix + Petit Bateau. Petit Bateau and the Opéra national de Paris have joined forces to produce a capsule collection designed by Monsieur Christian Lacroix. The fruits of this very French collaboration will be available from December 6 in a selection of Petit bateau stores and at the Opera store.
“I belong to a generation whose childhood was lulled with songs like Au Clair de la Lune, Il pleut, il pleut bergère” and Maman les P’tits Bateaux. Just like children today, all year round I wore white ribbed vests and garments whose “touch and feel” I still remember. Our mothers helped us dress, sometimes tenderly, sometimes with a tinge of impatience, depending on whether or not we were running late for school or bedtime.
I was very grateful to be asked by Petit Bateau to design a few timeless pieces, just for the evocation of those memories. Of course, the Opéra de Paris, a flagship monument, also plays a role in the project and I am very pleased to be able to work against this backdrop once again”, says French Couturier Christian Lacroix.
In addition to the classic red with navy and white cotton stripes, Lacroix has injected his famous touch of colour with new shades of purple, coral and fuchsia, as well as gold.
Inspired by a combination of little boats, the sea and fresh air, the Palais Garnier opera house, the ballet and operatic arias, the collection is for mothers and daughters alike. It is a gift for Christmas and New Year, a mixture of summer and winter, with a magnificent theatre as a gift box.
From 6 December 2013, in a selection of Petit Bateau stores, on www.petit-bateau.fr and at the Palais Garnier opera house.
