Creativity, consumer savviness, quality, imaginative and interactive design, longevity and sustainability were some of the wonderful reasons the winners of our Pirouette One to Watch caught our eye. AW18 collections from Pitti Bimbo, Dot to Dot London and Playtime New York. Some great labels for you to look out for…
Pitti Immagine Bimbo
Fashion: Mum of Six
Stella Aminova is the owner of the ‘Five kids’ store in Russia. Since adding one more to the brood she has launched her label ‘Mum of Six’. As such this store owning, fashion loving mum of six really knows what her customers are looking for with the collection being fun, bright and practical in equal measures. Strong imagery, targeted marketing aimed at an international customer. A clever lady with a gift for time management (I imagine), see our interview with Stella Aminova at Pitti.

Design: Novel Walk
Hailing from Spain, Novel Walk combines super quality with a cool aesthetic. The shoe collection has both girl’s and boy’s lines. The boy’s line for AW18 is a favourite. Lovely to see boys being catered for with really well designed functional yet stylish shoes. Their SS18 collection is available now.

Dot to Dot London
Fashion: Ari London
A UK based luxury girl’s line completely new to the market. Ari London has huge potential manufacturing from a small studio in bonnie Scotland. You can subscribe to receive news of their launch which is pretty imminent. We can’t wait to see how Ari London develops…
Design: Mini Wallers
Mini Wallers produce large circular decals – a visual portal for a child to get lost in their imagination. They currently have three versions: A flamingo named Val, an octopus called Derek, and a penguin called Bruce. There is some evidence on their insta feed of a pastel shade edition coming soon but you will have to keep a look out.
Playtime New York
Fashion: Devon’s Drawer
Heirloom clothing using sustainable fabrics. Although launched in 2012, Devon’s Drawer has developed and grown into the collection that I fell in love with at New York. The pieces are substantial, using indigo denim, etc, without being heavy. The denim is pre-washed bringing lightness to the garment. The pieces are stylish but not so trend driven that they will go out of fashion. Meaning each garment should enjoy the longevity it deserves.
Design: Gautier studio
Montreal based Gautier studio enjoys working with top designers who imagine products that are always natural, practical and unique. Slightly scandi in style, the products are playful and interactive. Whilst the designs will appeal not only to kids but also to their design loving parents. Proof kid’s design doesn’t have to be digital to be interactive and engaging.
