English Rabbit – Luxury children’s boutique

We take a look at luxury children’s boutique English Rabbit, Beverly Hills, California – offering curated designer clothing, shoes and accessories for babies, kids and teens.

When did you open your bricks & mortar store?
May 2017

How important is the location?
Location is everything! We are located in the Beverly Hills triangle, a block and a half off of Rodeo Drive and central to all of the restaurants, hotels and medical buildings. Our building offers valet and then there are lots of parking decks throughout the area with 2 hours free parking, too.

When did you start to sell online?
2020

Do you feel having a bricks and mortar store helps your online presence?
Absolutely. The two work hand in hand each bringing business to one another. We get a lot of tourists in Beverly Hills that discover our location while visiting. Those customers are able to continue shopping with us from their home towns after leaving.

What percentage of total sales does the bricks and mortar represent?
At this point the store is still performing better than our website because we have the best team of stylists there! Not only are they so good knowing the customers and styling, but they genuinely care about the customers, stay in touch with them and have a very hands on approach to customer service. Our customers often reach out to their stylist directly as opposed to shopping online without the additional support.

Talk to us about the past year with your store, and what you have planned for the future?
The past year at English Rabbit has been rewarding as we have continued to grow our business both in store, and online. We have a lot of new brands coming this fall and a few in the works for 2024. Keeping up with the fashion industry, adding new brands and gaining new customers to be part of our extended family is what it’s all about.

How do you source the labels you carry? I.e trade shows, social media, showrooms/ agents, print
All of the above. I’m always researching on Instagram and online and then traveling all over the world to find the best of the best. Our customers and staff often have incredible recommendations, too. It’s a group effort!

Always difficult to choose favourites, but please try. Name 5 favourite brands?
My favorite brands are always changing from season to season. Right now my top 5 favorites are Marni, Versace, Morley, Les Coyotes de Paris and Simple Kids

What features and practises do you feel create repeat custom and a loyal customer base?
Customer service and product assortment.

A favourite quote or comment by a customer?
The best comment I’ve ever received was from one of our regulars that is actually based in London, but also has a home in Los Angeles. He said the store was like Harrods only better because I’ve edited it down to what the customer actually wants to buy.

Finally, describe your store in terms of personality and tell us something unique about your store…
What I love most about the personality of the store and our entire brand is that we always represent both sides… feminine and masculine, sweet and edgy, conservative and trendy, high and low (pricepoints). That is very true to who I am and my style. I try to create an environment that works for everyone.
