Portuguese label Piùpiùchick just opened a store in Foz, the authentic and chic Porto neighbourhood by the sea. It’s no surprise that the label was created by an architect, an engineer and a designer as the space is very cute and cleverly done.
Launched 2 years ago, Piupiuchick offers a collection of children’s clothing and accessories for 0-8y, designed and produced in Portugal. The collection is very rich for such a young label, with lots of silhouettes, textures and patterns, a great mix of woven fabrics and knits. I like the good balance between classical and modern, the attention to details, the combination of bright colours and subtle tones, the cute shoes and bags. There’s even a little selection of home decor and accessories. The whole assortment creates a rich and consistent lifestyle.
Mariana, Inês and Marta, the three women behind the scene, started working together 10 years ago as Moopi, an architecture and decoration office. When they became mothers (they have 2 children each), their interest shifted towards children’s fashion. They started to think about the brand five years ago, and officially launched it in 2012.
Being located in North of Portugal, next to the heart of the textile industry, allowed them to work with great factories and to to offer a very good quality at affordable prices.
