New kid on the block Swiss label Atelier Parsmei believe that ‘Every child should have the right to an education’ with this principle being at the origin of the label’s first collection. Ethical and sustainable Atelier Parsmei produce high fashion kid’s wear and womenswear. The collection is respectful in its production and committed to benefiting others through the purchase and wear of their pieces – fashion for education.
The SS20 collection draws on the contemporary artist Ai Wei Wei’s thought-provoking installation about the Sichuan earthquake in 2008 by referencing vintage Chinese school uniforms and their classic silhouettes. The pleats in the collection provide structure and texture, the colour palette goes from soft sky blues to popping sunny yellow, and juicy tangerine.
But at the heart of this new label is its ethos:
”We have chosen to seek a better way to produce luxury and high design fashion with social commitment and sustainable principles. From our suppliers to our customers and everyone in-between our mission is to encourage everyone to think, act and choose positively whilst finding ideas to help us create less wastage and reduce our environmental impact.”
Founder Darshana Salvisberg
The SS20 collection is now available in their newly launched on-line store with their AW20 ‘Music is an Education just presented at Pitti Bimbo & Playtime Paris.
