Lovi Oy is a family owned company based in Northern Finland that produces do-it-yourself wooden figures, designed and patented by Anne Paso. For each tree bought, a tree is planted. A great brand to keep in mind for ecological gift items.
Last year Lovi sold more trees and Xmas trees than ever before. It means over 7,000 trees planted for that year only, and over 25,000 trees since 2009.
If like me, you love buying products from companies that give back to nature, check Lovi out, as well as French company Faguo (a tree planted for a pair of shoes sold), and Conscients (a tree planted for a tee-shirt sold, and you can even follow the growth of the tree via Google Earth!).
Coming back to Lovi, their trees are beautiful, and the largest (135 cm high), makes a very nice christmas tree. Smaller version work as necklace holders, or just as simple decoration. The smallest Lovi products (birds, rabbits, trees) are envelope size and easy to send. They are all 100% made in Finland from the highest Finnish quality and PEFC -certified birch plywood.
Mixing cleverly together the beautiful Lovi shapes they provide a sense of wonder as they take shape and come alive, all this added to the satisfaction of working with your hands without any tools.
Lovi’s collection is available at Lovi online store, Skandium in London, Bon Marche in Paris, Norman Copenhagen and Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen. And in many sales point on the planet, just check the main website for stockists.
