Interview with team Sticky Lemon.
Hailing from the Netherlands, Sticky Lemon designs are always sweet fun & never sour. Their quality & attention to detail is conspicuous throughout their products – from the liners in their distinctive bags to the packaging and their oh so clever labelling. You can even get Sticky Lemon whistles that are sufficiently cool you don’t mind buying them for your child despite the noise… Pirouette had been one of their biggest & longest standing fans, reluctantly now having to share the fandom globally. Clever design for useful & desirable products. From bags & accessories they have ventured into clothing & even pickleball sets… Is there anything Sticky Lemon can’t do?
Bags, socks, & even pickleball sets, what made you decide to produce the capsule clothing collection?
To be honest, we’ve been dreaming for years to develop a small Sticky clothing line. According to the styling of our models during shoots (which we do ourselves), we always receive a lot of questions where to buy these items – it made us think, how cool would it be that the models are wearing Sticky Lemon, from head to toe! A Sticky uniform, but then mixed & matched to your own liking. The new Better Together collection, which is all about sports, felt like it needed some classical sport additions, like stretchy leggings & shiny shorts to complete the retro Olympic vibe we had in mind.
What makes good kids design according to the Sticky Lemon Crew?
Good kids design is all about being yourself & feeling comfortable – in your own, unique way. Mixing your favourite colours, matching your personality. We just love to see these sunny Sticky kids having the best of times.
The most specific challenge I have had in business as a woman is the transverse between motherhood and the working world – much the same as all other working mothers. However, I know that the days when they are young won’t last forever, so I try to stay in the moment and be present with my now adolescent sons as much as possible. If they seem hungry for company, drop everything else!
"Better together!"
Sticky Lemon
The Sticky Lemon stand presentation at the shows has always been unique. How do you go about creating & realizing these fabulous ideas?
First of all: thank you for the great compliment! We just always want to take the Sticky world with us to share with our beloved customers, even if that’s all the way to Paris or New York. It’s strongly connected with the theme, as an extension of the collection. The first ideas are already popping up during the concept phase of the collection, realizing it in the last few weeks just before the tradeshow season (what is it with creatives & needing a bit of pressure?). We measure the dimensions of the stand, taping it on the studio floor, building & styling it all – as if we’re already at the show. We’ve had a wooden kitchen, a treehouse, a farmhouse market, a dressing room… We can’t wait for what’s to come. The stand presentation is the cherry on the cake!
" The lemon bites have been a tradition at the end of our photo shoots since the very beginning."

What is your favourite Olympic sport & why?
Our Olympic sport would be synchronized swimming. A sport that you must practice together. And as you know we are BETTER TOGETHER!
