A place you saw when you were a child, and that made its mark on you? The North Norfolk Coast – we used to spend all my childhood summer holidays here – at Burnham Overy Staithe. It’s a beautiful unspoilt part of the English coastline and the beaches are huge. I still try to go back there now with my kids but there is no surf being on the North Sea so we tend to go to Cornwall now instead.
The place you love near your home? The beach!! It’s 200ms from our front door – we spend a lot of time there!
Where do you dream to go for your next family holiday? Brazil…I hear the kitesurfing is great there!
A film or cultural event that you saw recently and that staid with you? The Olympics in London last year – my mum got tickets for me and the kids to go see the athletics and we saw Jessica Ennis and Bolt amongst others – it was a magical day
The film that you love to see with the whole family? Forrest Gump – inspirational and some great messages in it for the kids
The book on your bedside table? The hundred year old man who climbed out of the window
The children’s brands your cherish? Not so much children’s brands these days – Hollister, Element, Vans, Fat Face, Roxy, Billabong
Last thing you bought for your child? A new 5m kitesurfing kite for Tom!
Favourite pieces in your child’s wardrobe? Tom: has a lovely new Element hoodie in a great silvery blue colour and Jasmine: got given a tie die Hollister t-shirt that I want!
What do you buy online? We buy everything online – I am not a great shopper – too busy working or playing on the beach – our favourite online clothes shop would be Surfdome – we spend lots here at the moment J
The online destinations that inspire you? Pinterest – this pinboard website is brilliant – for work – for personal – for everything – love the whole concept
The purchase that changed your life? Buying my Shinn Toyboy last year!! (this is a kiteboard designed specially for women – and it is such a smooth ride – I have improved lots since riding it)
Do you have a big dream and if so what is it? That my children grow up happy and confident people
Something that you did in your childhood that you makes you laugh today? I was at boarding school and one night before sports day, when all the parents were coming into school the next morning, my friends and I snuck out of our dorm and wrapped the entire statue centerpiece in the school driveway with toilet paper and turned it into a mummy! They never did find out who did it either!
Something that made you laugh out loudly recently? My father’s speech at his recent golden wedding anniversary party.
