Bird Island in Malaysia is not only beautiful and cool looking, it is also a zero energy home made of an eco-friendly bamboo frame wrapped in a sustainably-sourced silicone glass fabric. It is super light and flexible and sways organically with the wind like a treetop. A grey-water recycling system allows for eco-conscious water use and reuse. Designed by Berlin-based Graft Lab Architects, as part of the YTL Green Homes Competition, which challenges international architects and designers to put their keenest, greenest ideas into action.
