The latest edition of Maison&Objet saw 162 brands exhibiting in the kids’ & family section – representing just over 7% of total exhibitors. With the market for kids’ furniture estimated to be worth just under $40 billion US in 2021 and forecast to grow significantly in the next few years we felt it important to touch base with leading international design show Maison&Objet. We wanted to hear what they have to offer brands specialising in design for young kids wanting to join the grown ups at the big table.
Speaking with Caroline Biros, Marketing & Communication Director of Maison&Objet she explained the Future on stage initiative they had in place to help young designers and labels to exhibit at the show: Each season young designers and labels can enter to possibly win 1 of 3 complimentary exhibiting stands.
About Future on Stage
Young companies at the front of stage.
True to its vocation as a talent revealer, Maison&Objet is launching Future On Stage, a new springboard for supporting remarkable young companies in the fields of decoration, design and the art of living. 3 winners, selected by a jury of experts, will be highlighted at the Maison&Objet show. A new opportunity for buyers, fond of novelties, to discover all the vitality, dynamism and creativity of these young shoots which are shaping the future.
So if you are a young designer or label with furniture designs, objects & giftable items it’s worth noting for the forthcoming season.

Caroline was keen to convey that International concept stores all have a section devoted to family, kids & giftables and that visitors to the show are keen to find these products.
Our conversation turned to the Maison&Objet Academy launched as a result of the pandemic that serves as an informative platform for both brands and buyers with simple, easy to watch video guides related to topical business guidance.
Caroline explained the premise behind the Maison&Objet Academy being that we are all busy individuals, running brands, stores and managing the day to day life of what that entails. So why not let them do the research work for you and provide you with the information on the various topics you require such as creating and managing your Tiktok account, 4 tips for training your sales person, etc.
