Trade Show Report: CIFF YOUTH AW19 / FW19

It was all change for Copenhagen based show CIFF YOUTH. Change of name, change of venue, and a change to the time so to take place alongside the men’s/ women’s shows for the first time. The space given to the exhibitors to present their collections was generous making for a relaxed environment for buyer and press. I was able to look clearly and effectively whilst buyers were also at the stands which was really great. The atmosphere is stylish and friendly. The monochrome Scandi style seems to have been replaced by rich warm opulent colouring though still retaining a lovely sense of the Scandi style that has been so prevalent these last years. 

The Atmosphere

Big open space, friendly atmosphere and beautifully stylish presentation overall. I meandered around the show with colleagues rather than rushing for a change, which was great for looking at the collections.

Trends

Metallics are not only for wearing, adding a little shine and pizzazz to home/ lifestyle/ interiors. See Ferm Living.

Some favourites from CIFF YOUTH

Minimalisma: Beautiful quality organic basics, cotton/ silk mixes and seamless pieces. Hailing from the Faroe Islands, with a connection to nature and commitment to quality.

Ferm Living Fruiticana collection, from bedding to tufted rugs to the pear braided storage basket. The must have list is endless.

Liilu, we’ve been watching the German label grow from their first trade show. Their AW/ FW19 collection is beautiful, fresh and expansive. The photography and styling is also incredibly strong. Wonderful label.

Jens Storm Satchels: Stylish, eye-catching and rather gorgeous.

Sebra, Rhino Rocker. The handsome Rhino can either be assembled white or natural wood side out depending on the mood :-)

Notes: The CIFF YOUTH team explained that they have plans to make greater use of the neutral space between the three shows for the Summer edition. This will allow the children’s show to fully integrate with its adult siblings and will no doubt encourage crossover between the buyers. Something the brands are likely to feel very positive about.

With this being the first show since the change of venue and name we are sure that the the next edition is going to be even better…
