Repost from August 2011 –Located two hours north of New York on the Hudson Valley, the house of fashion designer Ryan Roche is filled with light, poetry and inspiring details. The place is extremely peaceful and joyful at the same time, allowing space for reflexion, bringing true happiness.
For those who know children’s fashion, the name of Ryan Roche will be familiar. In 2004, Ryan opened a Brooklyn store called mor mor rita and selling her beautiful line of knits and woven pieces. A collection of dreamlike clothes with an amazing color palette that influenced the whole industry.
Today, Roche has moved to adult’s (while keeping a small production for children) and her eponymous line has won the loyal support of a client base including Maggie Gyllenhaal, Milla Jovovich, Anne Christensen and Olya Thompson.
The house reflects pretty much the clothes that Ryan creates : quiet, soft, modern, poetic with subtle yet stimulating details.
