Fariba and Yasmine
Fariba lived in Berlin before becoming a Londoner in September 2009. Fluent in German, English and Spanish, the 8 years old cosmopolitan girl has a younger brother, Nicolas. Her mother, Yasmine Mahmoudieh, is an interior architect. Fariba had much fun telling me what she likes.
Fariba
What you want to do when you grow up I don’t know (but her mother tells me she wants to be a fashion designer or an actress)
Favorite book I like adventure books, like Dragon rider by Cornelia Funk
Favorite films Mr Magorium’s wonder emporium
Favorite place for holidays Kitzbühel, Austria to ski, Ile de Re and St Tropez in the summer
A city that you would dream to visit New York
Who chooses your clothes in the morning Either me or my mom
Favorite brands Gap, Napapijri
The piece your like the most from your wardrobe A velvet green dress with sequins with its cardigan
The next item you would like to get A golden cropped top, in silk
Yasmine
Favorite children’s brands I like to mix brands. River woods, Eddie pen (from Italy), Bonpoint, Zara, Marie-Chantal (especially for my son Nicolas), Petit Bateau, LittleWhite Company (for their pajamas), Jigsaw, shanghai tang
Favorite children’s stores Emma & Co for clothing, Kinderwinkel for clothing and furniture, both in Berlin. I also like to wander in Le Marais, Paris where I find lots of great things
Favorite online store Nonchalant mom, Amazon for books and Dvds
Criteria you consider when you buy something for child I look first at the design as I want things to be original, then I look at what I get for the price. I avoid items with frou frou and flower
Most expensive item you bought for your child A dress from Italian brand I Pinco Pallino that I bought for a wedding, all white and very beautiful
Favorite piece in her wardrobe A velvet Jigsaw dress, which is also Fariba’s favorite
An item that is hard to find Nice and clever furniture
Brands you like for yourself I also like to mix brands for myself : Joseph, Etro, Miyake, Prada, Christian Lacroix, Donna Karan, Jil Sander
Your favorite places for the summer holidays We go to Salzburg, Austria every year; we usually stay at the Intercontinental in Berchtesgaden, an hotel that I designed. We also love Sicily and this summer we’ll be in Elounda Beach, Crete
