It’s the temple of home decor, an Ali Baba’s cavern full of amazing things, an eclectic mix of vintage, folk and design. In New York everyone goes to ABC Carpet&Home, to buy furniture, carpets, bedding&linens, jewelry, beauty products, curtains, or simply to have a fun time admiring all the above. ABC Home also hosts a Pain Quotidien restaurant as well as the delicious ABC Kitchen opened in March of this year by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and a shop in shop  by Tribeca based woman’s wear designer  Gary Graham.

.

About half  a decade ago, ABC Carpet&Home had a huge children’s department with the most amazing iron beds, giant stuffed animals, child-size planes and cars, toys, decor objects and an incredible number of children’s wear brands from all over the world. All the beautiful independent labels were on display. It was heaven.

.

Today, after a few moves in different parts of the store, the children’s department has settled down on the third floor. It’s not as big as it used to be, the selection of clothes is reduced to a few brands (mainly Tane Organics), but it is still an enchanting place to visit, with a good selection of wooden toys, little accessories and home decor.

On the bedding floor, don’t miss the wonderful sheets, throws, bathrobes by Society, the most desirable brand for home textiles from Italy.
