I loved the feature “Toying with ideas – Philosophers on children” in the latest issue of Kidswear Magazine. A brillant compilation of  quotes on education and childhood by Nietsche, Hannah Arendt, Jean-Jacques Rousseau and other famous thinkers. This one, by Arthur Schopenhauer, stayed with me : “The basis of their joy is, however, that in childhood, our whole being lies much more in knowing rather than in wanting”. I thought that these portrait by photojournalist Alison Wright were a good illustration of the subject.

Alison Wright is an American photojournalist and writer. She focuses on documenting the traditions of endangered cultures. She is the founder of the Faces of Hope Fund, which provides health care and education to communities in Asia. For more info visit www.alisonwright.com
