Asking Surya, auhtor of weegallery.com about her daughter Anya’s personality, she gave me a very simple answer : “Anya has loved and drawn pigs ever since she could hold a pencil!”. A happy day to pigs !
Anya
What do you want to be when you grow up A Sweet Shop owner
What is your favourite famous person Santa Claus
What makes you laugh Playing Wiggly Cow (getting on daddy’s back and holding on tight while he tries to get me off by wiggling)
What makes you sad or angry I was sad when my friend had to move away
Your favourite films and books I don’t like to watch movies, but my best TV show is Phineas and Ferb, and my best books at the moment are the Fluffy series by Kate McMullan
Your favourite animal Pigs!
The best holidays you ever had We went to Connecticut for Christmas, and I loved seeing snow for the first time! There was a cool supermarket there too, where the cheeses talked to you!
A place that you would dream to visit Australia, so that I can see wombats and kangaroos with joeys.
Your favorite outfit My dress with roses on it
The next item you would be happy to get More Fluffy books
Something you did recently that you really loved The Tooth Fairy gave me some money recently, so my dad took me and my brother to the mall, and my brother helped me choose a pair of earrings. I chose Smore shaped earrings
If you had a magic wand, what would you do with it right now? Turn myself into a Fairy Princess [thank god not into a pig]
Surya
Your favourite children’s brands Bobo choses, Ketiketa, Crewcuts
Your favourite children’s stores I shop at thrift stores, online and when we go back to India. I also make many of my kids clothes. Sweet William, Three Potato Four, and Smallable are my favorite e-stores. I like American Apparel for basics because the sizes run small and fit my kids perfectly.
A website that inspires you soulemama.com
Last item you added to Anya’s wardrobe A Halloween shirt from Old Navy – how can you resist glow-in-the-dark ghosts!?
Most precious item you bought for your child Her first earrings, this summer in India. Traditionally, a child’s first earrings are a 22K gold wire, pierced by hand, since the gold is too soft to work in a gun. We went to the same jeweler that I had my ears pierced when I was a little girl, probably around the same age. It was a special experience for all of us
Best gift you gave for a child’s B-day We made a book for a friend’s daughter, where we pasted pictures of her on backgrounds of India. We called it “Miranda goes to India”. She loved it!
Items that are hard to find Trousers which fit the kids well – they are either too loose or too short!
Favourite pieces in your child’s wardrobe Tailor made dresses from india, and handmade pajamas
The book on your bedside table The Sea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh
A film that you saw recently and that staid with you? An Education
The film that you love to see with the whole family? The Sound of Music
An unforgettable place you’ve travelled to The Himalayas
The ideal place for a family summer holiday Either the mountains or the beach – with cousins!
