A Look At… Nick Waplington‘s series, Living Room.
Ahead of the major photography exhibition showcasing photographer Nick Waplington‘s images of the late Alexander McQueen due to open in a few days at The Tate, Waplington’s series, Living Room, sprang to mind. Living Room was British photographer Nick Waplington’s first project. In the late 80s, he spent four years recording all aspects of the lives of two families living on a council estate in Nottingham. Living Room is an unconventional, colourful and witty depiction of the British working class. A stark contrast from the the usual gritty black and white documentary style.
